Old concrete side patio cracked along the foundation line and pitched the wrong way, tracking water toward the basement window for years.
Demo'd everything to native, dropped a deeper base over geotextile, and laid two-tone slate pavers in a running bond with a charcoal soldier course around the perimeter. Stepped landing off the back door rebuilt to match.
Garden bed retained with a 24-inch smooth-face block wall so the planting beds sit clean above the patio elevation. Pitch reset to fall away from the house.
